Studying
Using Pomodoro Timers and Background Music
Pomodoro Timers
This study concept has helped me immensely. It allows you to stay focused on task. Basically you set a timer, usually at 15, 20, 25 or 30 minutes followed by a short break of 5 minutes. Turn off your phone, close all other browsers (I am guilty of hitting the https://awkwardfamilyphotos.com site way too much lol) and just focus on whatever you are studying during that time.
This can be reading, doing a Udemy Course, following code examples on https://www.codewars.com/… anything.
Having the timer keeps you from getting distracted and drifting away. Knowing how much time you have left also keeps you much more focused on learning as well.
Background Music
Having lofi instrumental music playing in the background helps the brain take in the information even more. I’m not sure why, maybe the background sounds force the brain to zero in better on what you are learning? Who knows. All I know is it works for me. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you or not.
The Great News – It’s Already Out There For You
Others have already put timers with music on the web for you. Just go to one and start studying. Below are a few I use.
